RESOLUTION NO. 2007-019 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS <br />AUTHORIZING THE CONTINUED EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FROM THE <br />SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND FOR TWO <br />ADDITIONAL POLICE OFFICERS TO BE ASSIGNED AS A MOTORCYCLE <br />TRAFFIC OFFICER AND A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 6.7 of Division 3 of Title 3 of the Government Code was amended <br />with the Governor's approval of Assembly Bill 2885; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos is entitled to receive approximately $100,000 under <br />the terms of the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund if specified requirements are met <br />as well as $100,000 from the City of Monte Sereno under the terms of the fund; and <br />WHEREAS, the State funding cannot be used to supplant current Town cysts for law <br />enforcement and must be expended exclusively for front -line police services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town Council has considered the written request separate and apart <br />from the allocation of general funds for police services; <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, <br />County of Santa Clara, State of California, as follows: <br />1. The Town Manager is directed to continue the Supplemental Law Enforcement <br />Services Fund (SLESF) within the Town for receipt and disbursement of money received from <br />the County Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund. <br />2. The Town Manager is directed to promptly remit to the General Fund all funding <br />deposited in such SLESF fund for the additional funding of one Police Officer position to be <br />assigned as a motorcycle traffic officer and one Police Officer position to be collaterally assigned <br />as a School Resource Officer. <br />
