ORDINANCE NO. 1477 <br />AN URGENCY <br />ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ESTABLISHING <br />A RENTAL DISPUTE MEDIATION AND <br />ARBITRATION PROCESS BY ADDING CHAPTER 24 <br />TO THE LOS GATOS TOWN CODE <br />The Town Council Of The Town Of Los Gatos ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Chapter 24 is added to the Los Gatos Town Code to read as <br />follows: <br />Chapter 24 <br />Rent Disputes <br />PART 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />24.10.010 Title <br />This ordinance shall be known as the Los Gatos <br />Rental Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Ordinance. <br />24.10.015 Declaration Of Policy And Purposes <br />The Council finds and declares that there is a <br />growing shortage of and increasing demand for housing in <br />the Town of Los Gatos. This circumstance, coupled with <br />increasing inflation, the rising costs of developing new <br />housing, and other factors, has put substantial upward <br />pressure on residential rents. <br />This ordinance is necessary in order to protect <br />the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Los Gatos <br />-1- <br />
