ORDINANCE NO.' 1416 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29 -44 <br />OF THE LOS GATOS TOWN CODE RELATING <br />TO THE REGULATLON OF TAXI FARES. <br />THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 29 -44 contained in Article IV of Chapter 29 of the Los Gatos <br />Town Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"SEC. 29 =44 SCHED <br />"It shall be unlawful, except for trips to or from points <br />outside the town where the charge is fixed on a trip basis, for <br />th.e holder or driver of any taxicab to fix or charge or collect <br />a rate in excess of the following: <br />(a) For the first one - eighth mile, or fraction thereof, <br />eighty ($.80) cents. <br />(b) For each additional one - eighth mile, or fraction <br />thereof, ten ($.10) cents. <br />(c) The charges of subsections (a) and (b) shall apply to <br />any number of passengers up to, but not in excess of five, where <br />the point of destination for all of such passengers is the same; <br />and for each such passenger in excess of five, such charges may be <br />increased by not to exceed ten percent thereof. <br />(d) For each piece of luggage in excess of two average size <br />traveling bags, or their equivalent in size, twenty -five ($.25) <br />cents; for each. trunk, fifty ($.50) cents. <br />(e) For waiting or traffic delay, eight ($8.00) dollars per <br />hour prorated on the basis of the actual waiting time or traffic <br />delay. <br />(f) Between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 A.M., a <br />minimum charge of two ($2.00) dollars. <br />(g) In case any taxicab shall become disabled or break down <br />while conveying passengers for hire, the time of stoppage shall be <br />deducted from the time charged therefor." <br />-1- <br />
