Ord 1797 - AMENDING CHAPTER 16 OF THE TOWN CODE TOORDINANCE NO. 1797 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING CHAPTER 16 OF THE TOWN CODE TO AMEND SECTION 16.61 RELATING TO PLACEMENT AND MEANINGS OF CURB MARKINGS FOR PARKING REGULATIONS TOWN WIDE THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES HEREBY ORDAIN: SECTION I SECTION 16.61 OF THE TOWN CODE IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 16.61 Placement and meanings of curb markings for parking regulations (a) The Chief of Police is authorized, subject to the provisions and limitations of this chapter, to place, and when required herein shall place, the following curb markings to indicate parking or standing regulations, and such curb markings shall have the meanings as herein set forth. (1) Red shall man no stopping, standing or parking as any time except as permitted by the Vehicle Code of the state, and except that a bus may stop in a red zone marked or signed as a bus zone. (2) Yellow shall mean no stopping, standing or parking at any time be- tween nine a.m. and six p.m. of any day except holidays for any purpose other than the loading or unloading of passengers or materials, provided, that the loading or unloading of passengers or materials; provided, that the loading or unloading of passengers shall not consume more than three minutes, the loading or unloading of materials more than thirty minutes. (3) White shall mean no stopping, standing or parking at any time of any day for any purpose other than loading or unloading of passengers, which shall not exceed ten minutes. (4) Green shall mean no stopping, standing or parking for longer than thirty minutes at any time between the hours of eight a.m. and eight p.m. seven days a week, including holidays. (b) Where curb markings have been heretofore placed by authority of this town, and when the chief of police, as authorized under this chapter, has caused curb markings to be placed, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle adjacent to any such legible curb marking in violation of any of the provisions of this section. (Ord. No. 321 Sec. 96; Ord. No. 1288, Sec. 1.) SECTION II This Ordinance takes effect thirty days after the date it is adopted. Within fifteen days after this Ordinance the Town Clerk shall cause it to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the Town. This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on August 21, 1989, and adopted by the following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council on September 5, 1989• AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS Thomas J.
