2002-003- Authorizing The Provision Of A Supplemental Military Leave Benefit Through December 31, 2002 For Employees Called To Active Duty As A Result Of The September 11 2001, Terrorist AttacksRESOLUTION 2002 - 3 (~ RESOLUTION OF THE 'T'OWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF .LOS GATOS AUTHORIZING THE PROVISION OF A SUPPLEMENTAL MILITARY LEAVE BENEFIT THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2002 FOR EMPLOYEES CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY AS A RESULT OF THE SEPTEMBER l 1, 2001 TERRORIST ATTACKS WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos. currently provides military leavebenefits pursuant to the California Military and Veterans Code and the Federal Uniformed Services. Employment and Re-employment Rights Act of 1994:; and WHEREAS, the Town provides employeestheir full and regular salary and all benefits for the first thirty (30) days after they are called into military .service; and WHEREAS, the Town Council wishes to adopt a supplemental military leave'benefit that extends through December 31, 2002. RESOLVED, by the Town Council ofthe Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California, that the Town of Los Gatos shall provide supplemental military leave benefits through December 31, 2002 to reservists called to active duty as a result of Operation .Enduring Freedom. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, thatthe Town Managershall develop and administer an implementation plan :for this benefit extension.
