AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 392 OF THE TOWN OF
LOS GATOS, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS, COUNTY.OF SANTA CLARA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING A ZONING OR DISTRICTING PLAN FOR SAID TOWN,
WITHIN WHICH CERTAIN REGULATIONS SHALL BE IN EFFECT
RELATING TO THE USES OF LAND AND BUILDINGSHKIGHT
LIMITS OF BUILDINGS, AND YARDS AND OTHER OPEN SPACES
ABOUT BUILDINGS; REQUIRING THAT CERTAIN PERMITS SHALL
BE SECURED FOR CERTAIN OF SUCH BUILDING AND USES;
DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS USED HEREIN; AND SPECIFYING
THE PROCEDURE FOR THE AMENDMENT, AND PRESCRIBING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS
HEREIN; REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH".
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
That Ordinance No. 392 of the Town of Los Gatos
entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS, COUNTY
OF SANTA CLARA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A ZONING
OR DISTRICTING PLAN FOR SAID TOWN, WITHIN WHICH CERTAIN
REGULATIONS SHALL BE IN EFFECT RELATING TO THE USES OF
LAND AND BUILDINGS, HEIGHT LIMITS OF BUILDINGS, AND YARDS
AND OTHER OPEN SPACES ABOUT BUILDINGS; REQUIRING THAT CERTAIN
PERMITS SHALL BE SECURED FOR CERTAIN OF SUCH BUILDINGS AND
USES; DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS USED HEREIN; AND SPECIFYING
THE PROCEDURE FOR THE AMENDMENT, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES
FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREIN; REPEALING
ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH`b, passed and adopted by the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos on the 12th day of March, 1956, be, and the sane
is hereby amended by amending Sections 5.16, 5.16.1 and
6.28 and by adding new sections 5.16.2, 6.28.1 and 6.28.2
to read as follows:

Section 5.16 Lot Area: Each lot shall have a
minimum width of sixty (60) feet
and a minimum area of eight thousand
(8000)square feet.
Section 5.16.1 The minimum lot area for multiple-
family dwellings containing more
than four dwelling units shall be
increased by two thousand (2000)
square feet for each such unit in
excess of four.
Section 5.16.2 Any parcel of land existing at the
time Ordinance No. 392 became effe.ctive,
to wit: April 11, 1956, having less
than the minimum width or area, or
both, as specified in Section 5.16
may be used for the construction
of a dwelling as follows:
(a) Single family dwelling.
(b) Lots containing not less
than seven thousand (7000) square
feet - two family dwellings.
(c) Lots containing between
seven thousand (7000) and eight
thousand (8000) square feet - a
multiple family dwelling containing
not more than four dwelling units
subject to the securing of a condi-
tional use permit in accordance with
the procedure provided in Section
18.00 of this ordinance.
Section 6.28 Lot Area: Each lot shall have a
minimum width of sixty (60) feet

Section 6.28.1 The minimum lot area for multiple-
family` dwellings, group dwellings
and court apartments containing more
than four dwelling units shall be
increased by one thousand (1000)
square feet for each such unit in
excess of four.

to wit. April 11, 1956, having less

This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
thirty (30) days from and after date of its passage and
before the expiration of fifteen (15} days after its passage
it shall be published once with the names of the members

voting for and against the same in the LOS GATOS TIMES-SARATOGA-
OBSERVER, a newspaper published in the Town of Los Gatos.

Town of Los Gatos, State of California, held on the day of
