AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A ONE WAY STR:HIET OR ALLEY IN THE TOWN
OF LOS GATOS AND PRESCRI3ING TIE PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF.
THE TO-UN COUNCIL OF THE TOIAN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLO?4S
Section 1. The word, "vehicle", shall mean any device in, upon
or by which any person or property is, or may be transported
upon a highway, except a device which is operated upon rails or
tracks.
Section 2. That that certain alley commonly known as the South-
ern Pacific Railroad alley and consisting of vacant land on the
-,:Testerly side of the Southern Pacific tracks and right of way
between Elm Street and West IiTain Street in the TOV1n of Los Gatos
is hereby designated and made a one way street or alley.
Section 3. No automobile or other vehicle shall enter said alley
from West I-lain Street and no automobile or other vehicle shall
exit from said alley into Elm Street and all traffic by automobile
or other vehicle must enter said alley from Elm Street and shall
travel in a Southerly direction thereon and exit therefrom into
West 'ruin Street.
Section 4. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance
shall„be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall beep unishable by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars
(500.00), or by imprisonment in the County jail of the County of
Santa Clara, for a period not exceeding six (o) months, or by
both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
thirty (30) days from and after date of its passage and before
the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage it shall
be published once with the names of the members voting for and
against the same in the a
