Ord 0269-CREATING A PUBLIC POUND, AND PROVIDING FOR THE BURIAL OF DEAD ANIMALSORDNANCE No. .AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No 75 OF THE TORN OF LOS GATOS, ENTITLED "AST ORDINANCE CREATING A PUBLIC POUND, AND PROVIDING FOR THE BURIAL OF DEAD ANIMALS." The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos does ordain as follows: Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 75 entitled, "An Ordinance Creating a Public Pound and Providing for the Burial of Dead Animals," passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Los Gatos on the 8th day of October, 1895, be, and the sane is hereby, amended to read as follows: Section 1. (a) The officesof Poundmaster and Deputy Potndmaster are hereby established. (b) The Poundmaster may be either a person, firm, associa- tion, or corporation and shall be appointed by the Town Council of the :own of Los Gatos. The Poundmaster shall serve for such period of time and shall receive such compensation as shall be established by ordinance or resolution or by contract executed by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos. (c) The Deputy Poundmaster shall be a person appointed by the Chief of Police and shall receive no compensation or fees whatsoever from the Town of Los Gatos, but ma7 be compensated by the Pbtn- dmaster for the services he shall render in the performance of the powers and duties bestowed and imposed here in such a man- ner as shall be determined by and between the Poundmaster and the Deputy Poundmaster. The Deputy Poundmaster is hereby authorized and directed to perform, in conjunction with and under the super- vision of the Poundmaster, and under the supervision of the Chief of Police the powers and duties herein bestowed upon and required to be performed by the Poundmaster. (d) The Poundmaster, if a person, and the Deputy P-ound- master, shall, upon the appointment as herein provided, and dur- ing the full tenure of their office, become and be vested with the powers and duties of police officers in the.Town of Los Gatos and each shall have the power, and it shall be their duty, to make arrest's for violation to any of the provisions of this ordinance, or for the vi6lation of any other ordinance they are required to enforce. If the Poundmaster appointed as herein provided, be a firm, association, or corporation, neither it nor any agent, employee, or representative or member thereof, unless the agent, employee, or representative, or member, be the duly appointed and qualified Deputy Poundmaster, shall be vested with powers and duties of a police officer of the Town of Los Gatos. Section 2. Section 2 of ordinance No. 75 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2. There shall be provided by the Town of Los Gatos, or by the Poundmaster upon such terms and conditions as shall be named in the Contract executed by and between the Poundnaster and the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos,, a suitable building or enclosure to keep and safely hold all animals which are subject to be impounded, which shall be known and designated as the "Town Pound". Section 3. This ordinance shall be published onPein the -------s ' a newspaper of, general circulation, printed and published in the Town of Los. Gatos.
