A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LOS GATOS
CENTENNIAL, INC.'S DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS
(CENTENNIAL PAGEANT)
WHEREAS, the Los Gatos Centennial Volunteers collectively organized a varied
schedule of celebratory events, up to this time, which included Centennial History
classes, two Victorian Garden Parties, (Special Events and Fund - Raising Committees;
David Stonesifer, Justo Arzie, Lita and Gordon Langloi<_), two Sweetheart Centennial
Balls, The Children's Poster and Essay Contest, (Special Events Committee) the
Centennial Chomp and Stomp, (Special Events and Fund - Raising Committees) a parade, a
musicale and ice cream social, (Special Events Committee) the Los Gatos Centennial
Pageant, (Special Events Committee) and the Centennial Town picnic and its Finale
Show, (Special Events Committee); and,
WHEREAS, the Centennial volunteers cooperated with a wide variety of community based
organizations and service groups such as the Art Docents of Los Gatos, C.A.S,A.,
Ming Quong, and Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Los Gatos Arts Commission and
Sister Cities Committee, the Lions Club, The Los Gatos Museum Association, and many
other groups; and,
WHEREAS, all Townspeople benefitted and enjoyed these celebrations and events; and,
WHEREAS, the history of our Town was emphasized; and,
WHEREAS, community pride and involvement was strengthened.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Los Gatos Town Council does hereby commend,
thank, and express its appreciation and gratitude to the Centennial Pageant Project
led by Kathy Morgan and to keepers of local history William A. Wulf, Emerson Shaw,
Bill Chivers, and John Barnes; to producers Mickey Benson and Margie Schu; to
Marlene Lamb, Joel and Barbara Harrison, Jack Wilson, Linda Eng, and Brent Ventura;
to composer Neil Hogan, to Crew Heads, Nikki Clapp, Emerald Hathaway, Barbara
Karlan, Kathy Kritzer, Jeff Hoffman, Lucille Hogan, Denise Shawlee, and Barbara
Jordan; to Narrators Mary Foster and Paul Dolan; and to a large and wonderful cast
and crew.
The Los Gatos Town Council looks forward to the Sealing of the Centennial Time
Capsule,
This Resolution rescinds Resolution 1987 -140,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California, at
a regular meeting held this 4 day of January 1988 by
the following vote:
