A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE
LOS GATOS HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, on December 13, 1985, the Los Gatos High School Varsity Football Team
won the 1935 Central Coast Section Championship by defeating defending
champion, St. Francis High School, by a score of 14 -12; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid victory was the Team's twelfth consecutive victory, and
has propelled it to a position of prominence in both area and state-
wide rankings of high school varsity football teams; and
WHEREAS, Coach Charlie Wedemeyer and his outstanding coaching staff have, by
reason of their devotion, leadership, teaching abilities and skill,
brought consistently successful high school football teams to the Town
and contributed to the physical and .moral development of their fine
young charges; and
WHEREAS, Coach Wedemeyer, his coaches and players have demonstrated to all the true
spirit of competitive sports through their display and courage,
compassion, and determination, despite tremendous hardship; and
WHEREAS, Coach Wedemeyer, his staff, and the Team have, through their courage,
tenacity, athletic skills and sportsmanship, earned national renoun
and admiration (making the Town justly proud);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
that the 1985 Los Gatos High School Varsity Football Team, players,
coaches, and supporting personnel, namely:

be highly commended for their outstanding accomplishments, and earnestly
thanked by the Town of Los Gatos for the strong community interest, spirit,
and pride which they have inspired.

a regular meeting held this 6th day of January, 1986, by the following vote:
