SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO ARTS AND CULTURE COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Appoint one of the following applicants to the Arts and Culture Commission to fill an unexpired
vacancy: Peter Dominick or Carol Waitte.
DISCUSSION:
On April 5, 2016, Council interviewed applicants for vacant Board, Commission, and Committee
positions. One Council Member was absent, which resulted in a tie vote with Peter Dominick
and Carol Waitte each receiving two votes for the remaining vacancy. Council continued the
appointment for the remaining vacancy to the April 19 Town Council meeting when the full
Council is expected to be in attendance. The absent Council Member has been provided an
audio tape of the interviews to prepare for the vote.
The next scheduled recruitment is set to begin in September 2016 with interviews to be held
immediately prior to the December 20, 2016, Town Council meeting. Recruitment for student
members is currently ongoing with appointments in June 2016.
CONCLUSION:
It is recommended that Council appoint one applicant to fill the vacant position on the Arts and
Culture Commission.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
Is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action.
