ORDINANCE NO. 1620 <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE TOWN CODE <br />RELATING TO THE 1982 UNIFORM -FIRE CODE REQUIRE- <br />MENTS FOR ADEQUATE WATER SUPPLY <br />The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos hereby ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 12.03.045 of the Town Code is hereby amended as follows: <br />Sec. 12.03.045. Adequate water supply. <br />Section 10.301(f) is added to the Uniform Fire Code, as follows: <br />Compliance with the publication, "Guide for Determination of Required Fire Flow," <br />as published by the Insurance Services Office, shall be deemed adequate, except <br />for the following: <br />(1) Where water supplies available for fire protection do not meet <br />the above requirements, buildings equipped throughout with an approved automatic <br />sprinkler system need not mandatorily comply with the provisions of this section. <br />(2) Buildings in excess of two (2) stories in height or that require <br />a fire flow - in excess of 2,000 gallons per minute shall be equipped throughout <br />with an approved automatic sprinkler system. For the purpose of this subsection, <br />dwellings with exterior walls protected in accordance with the provisions of the <br />Building Code need not comply.. For the purposes of calculating fire flow, area <br />and occupancy separation walls may not be used to reduce the building size. <br />CFCTTnN 2 <br />This ordinance takes effect-30 days after the date it is adopted. <br />Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to <br />be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated <br />in the Town. <br />This ordinance <br />was introduced at a <br />regular <br />meeting of the <br />Town Council of the Town <br />of Los Gatos on <br />May 21st, 1984 <br />, and adopted <br />by the following vote as <br />an ordinance of the <br />Town of Los Gatos <br />at a regular <br />
