tow ~ nF <br />,~,.~„~, <br />~as_GaSas COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />DATE: September 24, 2010 <br />MEETING DATE: 10/04/10 <br />ITEM NO: <br />TO: MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL `~ <br />FROM: GREG CARSON, TOWN MANAGER ~~ v ~~ <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPT STAFF REPORT ON LOS GATOS PREPARED UPDATE <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Accept staff report on Los Gatos Prepared update. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Los Gatos Prepared, the Town's annual emergency preparedness prog'am, has been in existence since <br />2005 and encourages every resident and business in Los Gatos to have the skills and resources necessary <br />to be self-sufficient in the event of a natural or other disaster. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />October is Emergency Preparedness Month in Los Gatos, and October 17tI' is the 21st anniversary of the <br />Loma Prieta Earthquake. This year, Los Gatos Prepared volunteers and staff will plrovide emergency <br />preparedness presentations and training at various times and venues in the community tluoughout <br />October. This year, Los Gatos Prepared events will take place as follows: <br />October 3 8 AM-12 PM Los Gatos Farmers Market <br />October 3 9 AM -3 PM Trek for Treatment event, Oak Meadow Park <br />October 6 12 PM -6 PM Las Gatos Prepared/American Red Cross Blood Drive <br />Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center, 74855 Oka Rd. <br />PREPARED BY: Scott R.
