ORDINANCE NO. 652
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED
"SHADY LANE NUMBER ONE ANNEXATION"-
TO THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF-THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS
WHEREAS on the 19thday of February , 19 62 , the Council
of the Town of Los Gatos did pass and adopt a Resolution giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
.Town of Los Gatos, said territory being therein designated as
"Shady Lane Number One Annexation" , and said action being
taken by the Council of said Town as the legislative body of the
Town pursuant to a written petition therefore, said Resolution
describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be
annexed to said Town; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution did contain a notice of the
day, hour and place when and where the said Council of said Town
would hear protests made by any person owning real property with-
in the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing
being not less than twenty nor more than sixty days from the date
of-the passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of April , 19 62 ,
at the hour of 8:00 P.M. in the Los Gatos Council
Chambers in the Town Hall of the Town of Los Gatos, County of
Santa Clara, State of California, said time and place being the
day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution for hearing protests
to said annexation, the said Council of said Toren did hear and
pass upon all protests shade to said proposed annexation and did
determine that no protests to said proposed annexation have been
made by or on behalf of the owners of one-half of the value of
the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the equalized
roll, nor by public and private owners of equal to one-half of

the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by
said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the Town of
Los Gatos, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Santa
Clara, and all of the procedural requirements of the annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, particularly Government Code
Sections 35300 and 35314 inclusive have been fully complied with;
NOVI, THEREFORE, the said Council of the Town of Los Gatos
does hereby approve the annexation of said territory, hereinafter
described, to the Town of Los Gatos and does hereby further ordain
that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the Town of Los
Gatos.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the
Town of Los Gatos is hereby approved, is all that territory situate
in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:

"SHADY LANE NUMBER ONE ANNEXATION"
Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of that certain Parcel
No. 2 of land conveyed to Thomas L. Stavrum, et ux, by Deed
recorded in Book 1362 Official Records, Page 192, Santa Clara County
Records, said point of beginning being also in the Town Limits of the
Town of Los Gatos;
Thence, following on and along the boundaries of said Stavrum
Parcel No. 2 and along the Town Limits line of the Town of Los
Gatos Northerly along the Easterly line of said Parcel No. 2 to the
Northeast corner thereof, being also a point in the Town Limits of
the Town of Los Gatos;
Thence, following the various courses and distances of the
Town Limits of the Town of Los Gatos in a direction generally
Westerly to the point of intersection of said line with the Easterly
line of Short Road, as the same now exists;
Thence, following on and along the Easterly line of said
Short Road Southwesterly to the point of intersection of said line
with the Northerly line of that certain parcel of land conveyed to
Edward J. Ripple, et ux, by Deed recorded in Book 3244, Official
Records, Page 565, Santa Clara County Records;
Thence, following on and along the boundaries of said Rimple
parcel Easterly along the Northerly line and Southerly along the
Easterly line to the point of intersection of said Easterly line
with the Southerly line of that certain parcel of land conveyed to
Perley B. Payne, et ux, by Deed recorded in Book 3064 Official
Records, Page 568, Santa Clara County Records;
Thence, following on and along the boundaries of said Payne
parcel Easterly along the Southerly line to the point of intersection
of said line with the Westerly line of that certain Parcel No. 1 of
land conveyed to Thomas L. Stavrum, et ux,, by Deed recorded in
Book 1362 Official Records, Page 192, Santa Clara County Records;
Thence, following on and along the boundaries of said Parcel
No. 1 of Stavrum, Southerly along the Westerly line of said Parcel
No. 1 to the Southwest corner thereof; Thence,'Easterly along the
Southerly line of said Parcel No: I of Stavruz to point of intersection
with the Westerly .line of the hereinbefore mentioned Parcel. No. 2
of Stavrum;

Thence, following on and along the boundaries of said Parcel
No. 2 of Stavrum, Southerly along the Westerly line of said Parcel
No. 2 to the Southwest corner thereof;
Thence, continuing to follow the boundaries of said Parcel No.
2 of Stavrum, Easterly along the Southerly line of said Parcel No.
2 to the point of beginning.
