AN ORDINANCE A121 11MING ORDINANCE NO. 282 OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS FOR FIRE PRUIEN-
TION AND LIFE SAFETY IN CONNECTION 11ITH HAZARDOUS MIATERIALS AND
PROCESSES, AND REGULATING BURNING WITHIN THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE"
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 232 entitled, "An ordinance
prescribing regulations for fire prevention and life safety in
connection with hazardous materials and processes, and regulating
burning within the Town of Los Gatos and providing penalties for
the violation of this ordinance," passed and adopted by the Town
Council of the Town of Los Gatos on May 19, 194'7, be amended by
adding Section 1 A thereto to read as follows:
Section 1 A: Regularly licensed hospitals and rest homes
shall be excepted and excluded from the stated hours and specific
days provided in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 282; provided, how-
ever, that nothing contained herein authorizes any act prohibited
by any other ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos and laws and
regulations of the State of California; and provide further
that there shall be no burning or other manner of disposal of
any refuse matter between the hours of 10:00 A. M. and 4:00 P. mi.
on Mondays.
Section 2: This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
urgency measure and necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health and safety and shall take effect and be in force
forthwith from and after its final passage and approval. The fol-
lowing is a statement of the facts constituting such urgency:
The Town Council finds that regularly licensed hospitals
and rest homes accumulate a great deal of refuse matter which

mast be disposed of promr-tly to prevent the propagation of
disease and unsanitary conditions eminently dangerous to the
Dublic health and safety.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of
the Town of Los Gatos, State of California, held on theQ
