ANT ORDINANCE REGULATING' HEDGES AND FENCES AT THE CORNERS OF
INTERSECTING STREETS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION.
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS
Section 1. Owners and occupants of any corner lot or
premises in the Town of Los Gatos shall keep trees, hedges and
growth at the corners of intersecting streets, whether between
the curb line and the private lot line or within the private
lot or premises, s so trimmed that the height of same
shall not exceed three feet above the curb level for a distance
of thirty feet measured horizontally in any direction from the
point of intersection of the property lines at street corners;
provided, however, that trees whose main trunks are exposed to
a height of seven and one-half feet above the curb need not be
so trimmed or cut.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any owner or occu-
pant of any corner lot or premises in the Town of Los Gatos to
erect or-maintain upon said lot or premises any fence exceed-.
ing three (31) feet above the curb level for a distance of thirty
(301) feet measured horizontally in any direction from the point
of intersection of the property lines at street corners; provided,
however, that fences that are free from vines and vegetation and
which do not obstruct vision of pedestrians and drivers of vehicles
may be erected and maintained if otherwise permitted by law.
Section 3. Any person violating any provision of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-
viction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding Five
Hundred (500.00) Dollars, or by imprisonment in the County Jail

of the County of Santa Clara, for a period not exceeding six
(6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force thirty (30) days from and after date of its passage and
before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage it
shall be published once with the names of the members voting for
and against the same in the-4"y
