ORDINANCE NO. 1519 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS <br />CHANGING THE DEFINITION OF VEHICULAR <br />DIRECTIONAL SIGNS AND ALLOWING SUCH <br />SIGNS SHOWING THE DIRECTION TO A PRIVATE <br />FACILITY THAT SERVES THE GENERAL PUBLIC, <br />UPON CERTAIN FINDINGS BY THE PLANNING <br />DIRECTOR. <br />TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 3.31.075 of the Town Zoning Ordinance is amended as <br />follows: <br />1. The following words are deleted: "...the Civic Center, <br />hospitals, public parking lots, and any publicly -owned facility." <br />2. The following words are added in place of the deleted <br />words: "...a use or activity." <br />SECTION 2. <br />Section 3.37.015 of the Town Zoning Ordinance is amended to <br />read as follows (the italicized words are added): <br />SEC. 3.37.015: DIRECTIONAL SIGNS (VEHICULAR) <br />Non - illuminated vehicular directional signs showing the <br />direction to or location of the Civic Center, hospitals, public <br />parking lots, and any publicly -owned facility. A sign showing <br />the direction to a private facility that serves the general public <br />(other than a church) may also be permitted upon findings by the <br />Planning Director that (Z) there is a public interest in making <br />the facility easy to find; (2) the public would have great diffi- <br />cuZty finding the facility without a sign; and (3) the sign would <br />not have a detrimental effect on the neighborhood. Signs erected <br />under this section may be erected in the public right-of-way by <br />express permission, but shaZZ in all cases meet the following <br />requirements: <br />
