AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING THE TOWN CODE CONCERNING
UNCOMPLETED WORK
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 7.01.155 of the Town Code of the Town of Los Gatos is amended to read:
SECTION 7.01.155: UNCOMPLETED WORK
Whenever the work authorized by a permit issued by the
building official is for more than one year not diligently
prosecuted, and is either unsafe or unsightly, the building
official shall bring it to the attention of the board. The
board may, either on its own motion or in response to a report
from the building official, call a hearing to determine whether
such work is a public nuisance. If the board so finds, it may
revoke the permit and abate the nuisance in any manner provided
for by law. The remedy provided by this section is cumulative
to any other remedy, and the town may elect whether to commence
administrative proceedings or to proceed initially to obtain
judicial relief.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted. Within
15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to be
published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated
in the Town.
The foregoing ordinance was duly and regularly introduced at a regular
meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the fe *h day of
July , 1981.
