SUBJECT: TOWN CODE AMENDMENT APPLICATION A-18-001. PROJECT LOCATION:
TOWN WIDE. APPLICANT: TOWN OF LOS GATOS.
CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO ARTICLE VIII, DIVISION 5 OF CHAPTER 29
(ZONING REGULATIONS) OF THE TOWN CODE REGARDING AFFORDABLE
HOUSING OVERLAY ZONES.
REMARKS:
The following is provided in response to the comments from Silicon Valley at Home attached to
the August 7, 2018 Staff Report. The proposed amendments would remove four of the
properties that were previously designated as AHOZ sites, and replace the required affordable
unit provisions by individual income categories wit h a minimum 40 percent affordable. These
amendments are required to make the Town Code consistent with the Town’s Housing
Element, as certified by the State Department of Housing and Community Development .
The Planning Commission discussed the proposed amendments on July 11, 2018. The
June 13, 2018 Planning Commission Verbatim Minutes were inadvertently attached to the
August 7, 2018 Council Staff Report as Attachment 2. The July 11, 2018 Planning Commission
Verbatim Minutes are attached to this Addendum Report as Attachment 5, replacing
Attachment 2.
