RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS ENDORSING LOS GATOS ROWING
CLUB APPLICATION FOR A NEW BOATHOUSE
AT LEXINGTON RESERVOIR'S BANJO POINT
WHEREAS, the Los Gatos Rowing Club is an honored local institution providing
recreational opportunities for Town residents at Lexington Reservoir, and;
WHEREAS, the Los Gatos Rowing Club lost its boathouse and rowing equipment in
an arson induced fire in May, 1994, and;
WHEREAS, the Los Gatos Rowing Club must obtain approval from the Santa Clara
Valley Water District , the Santa Clara County Planning Commission and the Santa Clara
County Board of Supervisors, and;
WHEREAS, the Town has had continuing concerns about development of facilities
at Lexington Reservoir, and;
WHEREAS, the Water District and the County are cognizant of the Town's concerns,
and;'',
WHEREAS, the Los Gatos Rowing Club has requested that the Town state a position
regarding its application.
RESOLVED, the Council of the Town of Los Gatos endorses the Los Gatos Rowing
Club's application for a new boathouse at Banjo Point, and urges the Water District and the
County to approve the application subject to all necessary environmental protections.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council held on the 3rd day
of January, 1995, by the following vote:
