COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT DATE: February 26, 1997 TO: MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL FROM: TOWN MANAGER D_4 SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION AMENDING CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES' COMPENSATION , REVISING LIST OF CONFIDENTIAL POSITIONS AND AUTHORIZING RELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS FOR FISCAL YEARS 1996 -1997 AND 1997 -1998 RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution amending Confidential employee compensation, revising the list of Confidential positions, and authorizing related budget adjustments for fiscal years 1996 -1997 and 1997 -1998. DISCUSSION: Traditionally, compensation and benefits for Confidential employees have been tied to the Town Employees' Association (TEA) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Confidential employees generally have received compensation and benefits equal to or better than TEA. Salary and benefits for 1996 -98 will be equivalent to the recently ratified 1996 -98 TEA MOU. Confidential employees will continue to receive a 5% salary differential. A listing of the confidential positions is attached. The position of Account Clerk will be moved from Confidential to TEA effective March 9, 1997. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS: Is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required.
