RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
COMMENDING MIKE ABKIN FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE TOWN
AS A MEMBER OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Mike Abkin has served the Town of Los Gatos as a member of the Planning
Commission from September 6, 1988 through December 10, 1997; and
WHEREAS, Mike has unselfishly contributed his time and devoted his energies to assist the
Planning Commission with numerous major studies and projects including the General Plan Housing
and Route 85 Elements, Traffic Policy, Los Gatos Boulevard Plan, Blossom Hill Open Space Study
and Noise Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, he is a solution oriented individual striving for community consensus, who used
his abilities to ensure that the Planning Commission made wise choices to preserve and enhance the
quality of life in the Town; and
WHEREAS, Mike's vision for Los Gatos is a community which accommodates all ages and
income levels and provides for an excellent quality of life for its residents.
WHEREAS, the Town Council feels that such outstanding public service deserves special
recognition.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS does
hereby render, with special appreciation, commendation and thanks to Mike Abkin.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, California held on the 17th day of February, 1998 by the following vote:
