RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING THE "CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
STREETS CAPE AND IMPROVEMENT GUIDELINES"
WHEREAS, the Los Gatos Town Council adopted the Central Business District
Streetscape and Improvement Guidelines" in February 1995 to provide standards for improving
the Right -of -Way in the C -2 zone; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council amended the Streetscape and Improvement
Guidelines in April 1996 to include the Streetscape Concept Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Toll House Hotel and Restaurant located at 140 S. Santa Cruz
Avenue requests a Planned Development which includes an amendment to the Central Business
District Streetscape and Improvement Guidelines (Project Application DEV -97 -004) to change
the extent of the median on S. Santa Cruz Avenue (Exhibit A); and
WHEREAS, the Toll House request for an amendment to the Streetscape Concept
Plan and the Gateway Detail Plan is required as a mitigation measure for traffic impacts
resulting from increased trips; and
WHEREAS, the amendment to the Streetscape Concept Plan does not change the
overall intent of the Central Business District Business Guidelines because the improvements
proposed will still act as a traffic calming measure.
RESOLVED, that the Town Council finds that the Central Business Streetscape
and Improvement Guideline amendment is not a project subject to CEQA pursuant to Section
15061(b)(3) of the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Council amend the Streetscape Concept
Plan and the Gateway Detail Plan of the Central Business District Streetscape and
Improvement Guidelines to eliminate the median island along S. Santa Cruz Avenue and to
provide street improvements as shown in Exhibit A attached hereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 19t1:day of January, 1999 by the following vote.
