AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DELETING SECTION 16 -97
PROHIBITING THE USE OF CERTAIN STREETS BY ANY VEHICLE EXCEEDING
A GROSS WEIGHT LIMIT OF FIVE TONS
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Article IX - Weight Limits is hereby amended to delete Section 16 -97 as follows:
Section 16 -97
No vehicle with a maximum gross weight in excess of five tons shall
use the following streets: Cypress Way between Phillips Road and
Cowell Road.
SECTION 2.
The Director of Parks, Forestry and Maintenance Services shall remove the
existing signs giving notice hereof.
SECTION 3.
Cypress Way is in danger of failing due to earth slides that have occurred. Re-
pair work which will involve the use of heavy vehicles over five tons in weight, is
scheduled to begin in early October, 1983. This ordinance shall therefore take ef-
fect immediately under Government Code Section 36937(b).
SECTION 4.
Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to
be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in
the Town.
This ordinance was adopted by the following vote as an urgency ordinance of the
Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council on September 19 , 1983.
