AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ADDING SECTION 16 -97 PROHIBITING THE USE OF CERTAIN STREETS
BY ANY VEHICLE EXCEEDING A GROSS WEIGHT LIMIT OF FIVE TONS
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Article IX - Weight Limits is hereby amended to add Section 16 -97 as follows:
Section 16 -97
No vehicle with a maximum gross weight in excess of five tons shall
use the following streets: Cypress Way between Phillips Road and
Cowell Road.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is for the immediate preservation of the public safety based on
the following facts: Cypress Way is in grave danger of failing, and heavy loads
will increase that danger, with consequent risk to life and property, to an unac-
ceptable level. This ordinance shall therefore take effect immediately under Gov-
ernment Code Section 36937(b)..
Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to
be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in
the Town.
This ordinance was adopted by the following vote as an urgency ordinance of the
Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council on May 16 1983 ,
1983.
