ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING SECTION B4 -41 OF THE SANTA
CLARA COUNTY ORDINANCE CODE, AS
PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED BY REFERENCE BY
THE TOWN, RELATING TO DOG LICENSE FEES
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Section B4 -41 of the Santa Clara County Ordinance Code,
adopted by reference by the Town of Los Gatos on September 2, 1975
by means of Town Ordinance No. 1261 is amended to read:
SEC. B4 -41. LICENSE FEES
A dog license fee of eight dollars ($8.00) per annum
shall be paid for each dog within the county, except that
the fee for a spayed female or neutered male shall be
three dollars ($3.00).
The director of public health or his designated
representative may require the submission of a certificate
of a licensed veterinarian stating that a dog has been
spayed or neutered prior to issuance of a license at the
lesser fee.
An additional fee of four dollars ($4.00) shall be
paid for a license purchased more than sixty (60) days
after notice to the owner to obtain a license or sixty
(60) days after expiration of a license.

Licenses and tags for dogs used principally for
the purpose of guiding persons with defective eyesight
and for dogs used in law enforcement agencies shall be
issued upon request without charge.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after the
date of its adoption, but shall not be operative until July 1, 1976.
The Town Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos shall cause this ordinance
to be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption,
in the Los Gatos Times - Saratoga Observer, a newspaper of general
circulation, published and circulated in the Town of Los Gatos.
The above and foregoing ordinance was duly and regularly
introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos held on the 19th day of 'Apr i 1 , 1976.
