Ord 1392 - PROVIDING A BUSINESS LICENSE TAX EXEMPTIONORDINANCE NO. 1392 ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS PROVIDING A BUSINESS LICENSE TAX EXEMPTION THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1. Section 15 -5 of the Town Code is amended by adding, immediately after the paragraph lettered (d), the following: SEC. 15 -5 CERTAIN BUSINESSES EXEMPT FROM CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER (e) The provisions of this chapter do not require the payment of a business license tax by charitable, nonprofit corporations recognized by the Franchise Tax Board and granted California tax exemptions as such, attributable to business activities conducted in the course of and in conjunction with community-wide events such as the annual Christmas Parade, Cultural Festival, Cat's Hill Race or Dammit Run, when the event has the specific approval of the Town Council and when the proceeds of the business activity are entirely devoted to the purposes of the organization. SECTION 2. This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted. Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the Town. -1- T"rt ( sr�Ji This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on April 3rd , 1978, and adopted by the following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council on April 17th , 1978.
