ORDINANCE NO. 1688 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS <br />AMENDING SECTION 4.10.050 OF THE <br />TOWN ZONING ORDINANCE RELATING TO <br />BUILDING HEIGHT ON SLOPING LOTS <br />THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ORDAINS: <br />SECTION I. <br />SEC. 4.10.050 is amended to read: <br />SEC. 4.10.050: HEIGHT DETERMINATION ON SLOPING LOTS <br />Where the slope of a lot (measured in the general direction of the lot <br />lines) is greater than one foot rise or fall in seven feet of horizontal <br />distance from the street elevation at the property line, building height is <br />limited to a plane parallel to the surface of the ground unaltered by <br />grading (including excavation) for the building in question. The plane is <br />at an elevation set by the rules of each zone. Building height is measured <br />vertically from the grade to the highest point of the coping of a flat roof <br />(slope 1 in 12 or less), or the deck line of a mansard roof, or to the <br />highest gable of a pitched or hip roof. <br />SECTION II. <br />This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted. <br />Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it <br />to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and <br />circulated in the Town. <br />
