AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING SECTION 16 -43.2 OF THE LOS GATOS
TOWN CODE FOR ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Based on an engineering and traffic survey, Section 16 -43.2 of the Los Gatos
Town Code entitled, "Establishing Speed Limits on Certain Streets ", is hereby
amended to read as follows:
1. Insert the following locations into the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARE 15 MPH:
a. Marchmont Drive from Marchmont Court to east end.
2. Delete the Following locations from the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 15 MPH:
a. Marchmont Drive from Town limits to end.
3. Insert the following locations into the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 20 MPH:
a. College Avenue from East Main Street to Prospect Avenue.
b. Cypress Way from Spring Street to east end.
C. Foster Road from Johnson Avenue to south Town limits.
d. Jackson Street from Oak Hill Way to Central Avenue.
e. Kennedy Road from 1,900 feet east of Forrester Road.
f. Kimble Avenue from Cleland Avenue to Prospect Avenue.
g. Phillips Avenue from Cypress Way to South Kennedy Road.
4. Delete the following locations from the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 20 MPH:
a. Jackson Street from Villa Avenue to Central Avenue.
5. Insert the following locations into the list of streets under the heading
of PRI FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 25 MPH:

C. Jackson Street from Los Gatos Boulevard to Villa Avenue.
d. East Main Street from Route 17 Freeway to Pageant Way.
e. Montclair Road from Quito Road to More Avenue.
f. More Avenue from Bicknell Road to 300 feet north of Vinyard
Court.
g. Santa Cruz Avenue from 200 feet south of Broadway to Winchester
Boulevard.
h. University Avenue from West Main Street to Saratoga Avenue.
i. Vista del Monte from Harding Avenue to end.
j. Wissahickson Avenue from Pennsylvania Avenue to Hernandez Avenue.
7. Insert the following locations into the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 30 MPH:
a. Kennedy Road from Los Gatos Boulevard to 1,900 feet east of
Forrester Road.
b. Lark Avenue from Winchester Boulevard to Los Gatos Boulevard.
C. Shannon Road from Los Gatos Boulevard to 750 feet east of Happy
Acres Road.
d. Short Road from Shannon Road to Old Blossom Hill Road.
8. Delete the following locations from the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 30 MPH:
a. Cherry Blossom Lane from Blossom Hill Road to Shannon Road.
b. Kennedy Road from Los Gatos Boulevard to 200 feet west of
Stoneybrook Road.
C. Los Gatos Boulevard from East Main Street to Mitchell Avenue.

9. Insert the following locations into the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 35 'MPH:
a. Los Gatos Boulevard from Mitchell Avenue to north Town limits.
b. Shannon Road from approximately 750 feet east of Happy Acres Road
to east Torun limits.
C. Winchester Boulevard from Shelburne Way to north Town limits.
10. Delete the following locations from the list of streets under the heading
of PRIM FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 35 MPH:
a. Lark Avenue from Winchester Boulevard to Los Gatos Boulevard.
b. Los Gatos Boulevard from Mitchell Avenue to Camino del Sol.
C. Quito Road from Pollard Road to south Town limits.
d. Winchester Boulevard from Bruce Avenue to the Town limits,
approximately 300 feet north of Daves Avenue.
e. Shannon Road from approximately 1,600 feet east of Happy Acres
Road to approximately 1,400 feet east of Suview Drive, westbound.
f. Shannon Road from approximately 750 feet east of Happy Acres Road
to approximately 1,400 feet east of Suview Drive, eastbound.
11. Delete the following locations from the list of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACI SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 40 MPH:
a. Los Gatos Boulevard from Camino del Sol to north Town limits:
b. Winchester Boulevard from 500 feet north of Lark Avenue to north
Town limits.
12. Delete the following locations from the lists of streets under the heading
of PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT DECLARED 45 MPH:
a. Winchester Boulevard from Vineland Avenue to 500 feet north of
Lark Avenue.
SECTION 2.
The Director of Parks, Forestry and Maintenance Services shall post appropriate
signs giving notice hereof on such streets at the locations he determines are
suitable.
SECTION 3.
All speed limits for streets within the Town established by prior resolutions or
ordinance of the Town in conflict with this ordinance are hereby rescinded and
superseded.

SECTION 4.
The Town Clerk shall attest to the adoption of this ordinance. This ordinance
shall be published once in the Los Gatos Weekly, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in the Town of Los Gatos, within fifteen (15) days of its
final passage, and this ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days following its
final passage.
The foregoing ordinance was duly and regularly introduced at a meeting of the
Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 7 day of April
1986.
PASSED AND ADOPTED as an Ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos, California at
a meeting of the Town Council held on the 2 day of April
1986, by the following vote:
