URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
REQUIRING THE PROCESSING, SIGNING AND DISTRIBUTION
OF ALL WARRANT /CHECKS AT TOWN HALL
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS does ordain as follows:
Section 1.
SEC. 2 -10.2 PROCESSING, SIGNING AND DISTRIBUTION OF WARRANT /CHECKS AT TOWN
.
The processing, signing and distribution of all warrant /checks shall be
done at the Town Hall located at 110 East Main Street in the Town.
Section 2.
It is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health
and safety of the citizens of the Town that this ordinance take effect immediately
in that processing problems occurred in connection with the March 29, 1985 payroll
because the warrant /checks left the Town Hall premises. On two other occasions
Town warrant /checks that left Town Hall premises were not returned to Town Hall in
a timely manner delaying the distribution of the warrant /checks. To avoid a
similar problem with the April 12, 1985 payroll and possible delay in
distribution of the payroll warrant /checks, passage of this ordinance as an urgency
measure is necessary. Payment of Town employees in a timely manner is necessary to
preserve the peace and safety of the community so that those employees directly
involved in law enforcement and street maintenance may continue to provide
uninterrupted services necessary for the protection of the citizens of Los Gatos.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption. Within 15
days after the ordinance is adopted, the Town Clerk shall cause it to be published
once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the Town.
This ordinance was introduced and adopted as an urgency ordinance of
the Town of Los Gatos at a — regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos held this 8th day of April, 1985, by the
following vote:
