ORDINANCE NO. 1609
ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF THE TOWN CODE AUTHORIZING
SANTA CLARA COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICERS TO SEIZE ANIMALS
WHEN NECESSARY TO PROTECT PUBLIC SAFETY OR HEALTH; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF DOGS AND CATS UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHT WEEKS
FROM COUNTY - OPERATED OR COUNTY - LICENSED SHELTERS; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR CHARGE OF A FEE FOR COST OF QUARANTINING ANIMALS
AND INSPECTING QUARANTINED ANIMALS.
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 5 -1 of Chapter 5 of the Town Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
SEC. 5 -1. ADOPTION OF DIVISION B4 OF COUNTY ORDINANCE
Division B4 of the County of Santa Clara Ordinance Code, Animals
and Fowl, as derived from County Ordinances NS- 600 -8, NS- 600 -9, NS- 600.9 -1,
NS-600.17, - 0 . 8, an , as modified y this ordinance, is
adopted by reference.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted.
Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted, the Town Clerk shall cause it
to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and cir-
culated in the Town.
The above and foregoing Ordinance was duly and regularly introduced
at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the
6th day of February , 1984.

at a regular meeting of the Town Council, held on the 21st day of February, ,
