r <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1609 <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF THE TOWN CODE AUTHORIZING <br />SANTA CLARA COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICERS TO SEIZE ANIMALS <br />WHEN NECESSARY TO PROTECT PUBLIC SAFETY OR HEALTH; PROVIDING <br />FOR THE ADOPTION OF DOGS AND CATS UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHT WEEKS <br />FROM COUNTY - OPERATED OR COUNTY - LICENSED SHELTERS; AND PRO- <br />VIDING FOR CHARGE OF A FEE FOR COST OF QUARANTINING ANIMALS <br />AND INSPECTING QUARANTINED ANIMALS. <br />THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS HEREBY ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 5 -1 of Chapter 5 of the Town Code is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br />SEC. 5 -1. ADOPTION OF DIVISION B4 OF COUNTY ORDINANCE <br />Division B4 of the County of Santa Clara Ordinance Code, Animals <br />and Fowl, as derived from County Ordinances NS- 600 -8, NS- 600 -9, NS- 600.9 -1, <br />NS-600.17, - 0 . 8, an , as modified y this ordinance, is <br />adopted by reference. <br />SECTION 2. <br />This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted. <br />Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted, the Town Clerk shall cause it <br />to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and cir- <br />culated in the Town. <br />The above and foregoing Ordinance was duly and regularly introduced <br />at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the <br />6th day of February , 1984. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED as an Ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos, California, <br />at a regular meeting of the Town Council, held on the 21st day of February, , <br />1984 by the following vote: <br />AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Joanne Benjamin, Eric D.
