URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.
That an amendment to the contract between the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
and the Board of Administration, California Public Employees' Retirement System ( "CalPERS ")
is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, marked "Exhib A ", and
by such reference made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
SECTION II.
The Mayor of the Town Council is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute
said amendment for and on behalf of said Agency.
SECTION III.
This Ordinance is adopted as an urgency ordinance and shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption pursuant to Government Code sections 36934 and 36937(b) for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health or safety because the ordinance approves an amendment
of the Town's contract with CalPERS in order to provide a retirement benefit that is required by
the Memorandum of Understanding between the Town and the Los Gatos Police Officers'
Association ( "MOU "), and must go into effect by or before the date required by the MOU, June 24,
2001. This Ordinance shall be published within 15 days from the date of its passage at least once
in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the Town.
This Ordinance was introduced and approved as an urgency ordinance at a regular
meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on June 4, 2001 and adopted by the
following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at regular meeting of the Town Council
of the Town of Los Gatos on June 4, 2001
