ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING ARTICLES III THROUGH V AND VIII THROUGH X
OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS TOWN CODE RELATING TO
BUILDING REGULATIONS AND TO ADOPT THE 1991. BUILDING
STANDARD REGULATIONS WITH 1991. STATE OF CALIFORNIA AMENDMENTS
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION I
Section 6.30.010 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 6.30,010. Adopted.
The Uniform Building Code, 1991 Edition, as amended in 1.991. by the State of
California in the State Building Standard Regulations (Title 24), with Appendix Chapters
11, 32, 35 and 49 with modifications provided in sections 6.30.01.5 through 6.30.025 of this
article and with Uniform Building Code Standards 1.991 Edition, is adopted by reference.
SECTION II
Section 6.30.030 of the Town Code is added to read:
Sec. 6.30.030. Roof covering requirements.
The roof covering on any structure regulated by this code shall be:
Class A or B minimum for all occupancies in the Fire Hazard Areas or as specified
in Table No. 32 -A if more stringent and as classified in Section 3204. Exemption:
Additions and alterations which are less than 10 percent of the projected roof area need
not comply.

SECTION III
Section 6.40.010 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 6.40.010. Adopted.
The Uniform Housing Code, 1991 Edition, with omissions and modifications
provided in sections 6.40.01.5 and 6.40.020 of this article is adopted by reference.
SECTION IV
Section 6.40.015 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 6.40.015. Amendments — Sections rescinded.
Each of the following sections of the 1.991. Uniform Housing Code is hereby
rescinded: 101, 102, 103, 104, 201, 202, 203, 204, 301, 302, and 303.
SECTION V
Section 6.50.010 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 6.50.010. Adopted.
The Uniform Plumbing Code, 1991 Edition, with Appendix chapters A, B, C, D, E,
H and I is adopted by reference.
SECTION VI
Section 6.50.015 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 650.01.5. Installation standards adopted.
The IAMPO Installation Standards, as set out in the 1991 Uniform Plumbing Code,
are adopted by reference.

SECTION VII
Section 6,80.010 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 6.80.010. Adopted.
The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1991 Edition, is
adopted by reference.
SECTION VIII
Section 6.90.010 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 6.90.01.0. Adopted.
The Uniform Mechanical Code, 1.991 Edition, with Appendix chapters A, B, and C
is adopted by reference.
SECTION IX
Section 6.100.010 of the Town Code is amended to read:
Sec. 6.100.010. Adopted.
The Uniform Code for Building Conservation "1991 Edition, including appendices,
is hereby adopted.
SECTION l
Section 6.100.015 of the Town Code is rescinded in its entirety:

SECTION AI
This Ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted or upon filing with
the California Department of Housing and Community Development, whichever comes last.
The Clerk is directed to send a copy of this ordinance to that Department. Within 15 days
after this ordinance is adopted, the Town Clerk shall cause it to be published once in a
newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the Town.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos on June 15, 1992, and adopted by the following vote as an Ordinance
of the Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council on November 15, 1993.
