RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS CHANGING THE
NAME OF SARATOGA AVENUE TO LOS GATOS - SARATOGA ROAD
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos has the authority under
Government Code § 34091.1 to change the name of a street in the Town; and
WHEREAS, the historical name of this street was Los Gatos - Saratoga Road; and
WHEREAS, the current name is confusing because other streets and highways in the
South Bay bear the same name but do not connect and have interchanges to other major
freeways; and
WHEREAS, the proposed change has been approved by both the California
Department of Transportation and the County of Santa Clara Communications Division;
and
WHEREAS, the Town Council adopted a resolution of intention to change the name
of the street on December 6, 1993, and to hold a public hearing be held on February 7,
1994, regarding the matter, and notice of that resolution of intention was duly published in
the Los Gatos Weekly -Times at least 7 days before the public hearing and notice was
mailed to all property owners and businesses along Saratoga Avenue in the Town of Los
Gatos of which the Town Clerk was aware; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on February 7, 1994, at which time the
Council received comment and testimony from all interested persons who appeared; and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered that comment and testimony as well as
written materials submitted on the matter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The name of Saratoga Avenue in the Town of Los Gatos between the city limits
of Monte Sereno and Los Gatos Boulevard shall be changed to Los Gatos - Saratoga Road.
2. The effective date of this change shall be February 1, 1995.
3. The Town Clerk is directed to mail a certified copy of this resolution to the
California Department of Transportation.
4. The Town Clerk is further directed to mail a certified copy of this resolution to
the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors pursuant to Government Code § 34092.
5. The Town Clerk is further directed to mail a copy of this resolution to the
property owners and businesses along Saratoga Avenue in the Town of Los Gatos of which
she is aware.

NOTICE: This decision constitutes a final administrative decision pursuant to Code
of Civil Procedure Section 1094.6 as adopted by Section 1.10.085 of the Town Code of the
Town of Los Gatos. Any application for judicial relief from this decision must be sought
within the time limits and pursuant to the procedures established by Code of Civil
Procedure Section 1094.6, or such shorter time as required by State or Federal law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 7th day of February, 1994 by the following vote:
