Santa Ciuz Avenue/CT-10-011 <br />September 9, 2010 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On May 5, 2003, the Town Council approved a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) modification to <br />increase the total number of seats, the number of seats where alcoholic beverage service without <br />meal service is allowed, and the hours of operation for an existing restaurant with separate bar <br />(Los Gatos Bar and Grill). The space was more recently occupied by 180 Restaurant and <br />Lounge, and Club 180. The applicant wishes to re-open the establishment as Los Gatos Bar and <br />Grill, as a dining and entertainment venue (Attachment 6). <br />Two Town Policies provide guidance in the analysis of this application -the Alcoholic Beverage <br />Policy (ABP) and standards for outdoor restaurant seating. The amended ABP was adopted by <br />the Town Council in September 2001. The purpose of the ABP is to provide parameters for <br />alcoholic beverage service and direction for application review through a General Policy and a <br />Specific Policy, and includes limitations for live entertainment. The Town Council adopted <br />standards for outdoor restaurant seating in 1994. These policies are discussed in the Analysis <br />section in Attachment 6. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />A. Project Summary <br />The applicant is requesting to increase the hours of operation,~increase the hours of patio <br />operation, modify the location of alcoholic beverage service, increase the number of seats, <br />and to allow live entertainment.
