RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ELIMINATING
NONRESIDENT FEES FOR LIBRARY CARDS
WHEREAS, charging a nonresident fee for library cards prevents Los Gatos Public Library
from joining a cooperative library system,; :and
WHEREAS, charging a nonresident fee causes numerous public relations problems,
particularly with those people who shop and go to schools in Los Gatos ;and
WHEREAS, Professional Library Consultants, P.A., in their February 1999 needs assessment
study recommended the elimination of the nonresident fee in order for the Library to enjoy the benefits of
belonging to a cooperative library system.;.
RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, county of Santa Clara, State
of California, hereby eliminates nonresident fees for library cards.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, California, held on the 7th day of February, 2000 by the following vote:
