AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE METHOD OF FIXING THE
COTSENSATION OF ALL APPOINTIVE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS, AND PRESCRIBING THE TIME
AND METHOD OF PAYING SALARIES AND }AGES OF SAID
APPOINTIVE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN OF
LOS GATOS, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH OR INCONSISTENT WITH
THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE.
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: All appointive officers and employees of the
Town of Los Gatos shall receive such compensation as the Town
Council shall from time to time determine and fix by Resolution;
and said compensation shall be a proper charge against such funds
of the Town that the Torn Council shall designate. Such appoint-
ive officers and employees shall hold office during the pleasure
of the Town Council, EXCEPT as to appointive officers and employees
in the classified service, which are subject to and shall be .
governed by the Civil Oervice System provided in Ordinance No. 244
of the Town of Los Gatow and Amendments thereto.
Section 2s Resolutions or orders for the payment of said
compensation shall be adopted or made only at a regular meeting of
the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos.
Section 3: Department heads shall certify or approve
departmental payrolls or attendance records for employees in their
departments. The Town Clerk shall certify or approve payrolls or
attendance records of other officers and employees.
Section 4;
Salaries and wages of appointive officers and
employees of the Town of Los Gatos shall be paid by payroll warrants
issued on the first day of the month following services rendered
by said officers and employees. Payrolls warrants need not be

audited by the Town Council prior to payment. Payrolls shall be
presented to the Town Council for ratification and approval at
the first regular meeting after delivery of the payroll warrants.
Section 5: All Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the
Town of Los Gatos in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions
of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 6: This Ordinance shall be published once in the
Los Gatos Daily Times, a newspaper published and circulated in
the Town of Los Gatos.
