Ord 0320-PROVIDING FOR AND RESTRICTING THE PARKING OF AUTO- MOBILES AND OTHER VEHICLES UPON HIGH SCHOOL COURTORDINANCE No. 320 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND RESTRICTING THE PARKING OF AUTO- MOBILES AND OTHER VEHICLES UPON HIGH SCHOOL COURT, A STREET OF THE TO;W'N OF LOS GATOS. THE TONIN COUNCIL OF THE TOdiTIN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The word, "vehicle" shall mean any device in, upon or by which any person or property is, or may be transported upon a highway, except a device which is operated upon rails or tracks. Section 2. All automobiles and other vehicles parked or left standing upon High School Court, a street in the Town of Los Gatos, shall be so parked with the right wheels parallel i#ith the curb on the right hand curb of said street or thoroughfare and distant not more than twelve inches therefrom. Section 3. No automobiles or other vehicles shall be parked or left standing more than two hours between the hours of 8 o'clock A. M. and 6 o'clock P. X.J. excepting during the time from 6 o'clock P. ICI. to 8 o'clock A. M. and on Sunday and the following legal holidays: New Year's Day, `vrashington's Birthday, Decoration Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Admission'Day, 'Armistice Day (November 11), Thanksgiving Day and Christmas, on High School Court. Section 4. The Chief of Police shall have lines or markings painted or placed upon the curb and/or upon the street for the purpose of designating the parking space and each vehicle shall park within the lines or markings so established. It shall be unlawful and a violation of this ordinance to park any vehicle across any such line or marking or to park said vehicle in such position that the same shall not be entirely within the area so designated by such lines or markings. Section 5. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con- viction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding Five -I- 2 0 i A-, Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment in the County jail of the County of Santa Clara, for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days from and after date of its passage and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage it shall be pub- lished once with the names of the members voting for and against the same in the Los Gatos Daily Times, a newspaper published in the Town of Los Gatos. Introduced at a continued regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 31st day of July, 1950. Passed and adopted as an Ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos, California, at a regular meeting of the Town Council thereof, held on the 7nd day of August, 1950.
