ORDINANCE NO. 1511
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING
THE ZONING ORDINANCE CONCERNING USES PERMITTED
AND DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS IN THE PS (PUBLIC
SCHOOL OVERLAY) ZONE
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 4.88.030 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Los
Gatos is amended to read:
SEC. 4.88.030: PERMITTED USES
In addition to activities allowed in the underlying
zone the following activities are allowed in buildings
in the PS zone. However, no activity shall be conducted
in a manner which would unreasonably interfere with nearby
residential uses.
(1) Public building, police, fire, community center,
(2) Library, art gallery, museum,
(3) Park, plaza, playground,
(4) School or college not otherwise specified,
(5) Nursery school,
(6) Vocational or trade school,
(7) Business or professional school or college,
(8) Art, craft, music, dancing school
Section 4.88.040 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Los
Gatos is amended to read:
SEC. 4.88.040: USES PERMITTED BY CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
The following uses are permitted by conditional use permit:
(1) All uses, not listed in SEC 4.88.030 above,
specified as allowable with a conditional use
permit by regulations of the underlying zone,
(2) Multiple family dwellings,
(3) Activities involving controlled manufacturing,
research and development, wholesaling and other
light industrial uses,

(4) Warehousing,
(5) Offices, business, professional, or executive
Section 4.88.060 is added to the Zoning Ordinance of the
Town of Los Gatos to read:
SEC. 4.88.060: PLAYGROUNDS AND PLAYING FIELDS
The extent of the school playground and playing fields
to be reserved for public use shall be designated at the
time the Public School zoning is adopted.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is
adopted. Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town
Clerk shall cause it to be published once in a newspaper of
general circulation published and circulated in the Town.
The foregoing ordinance was duly and regularly introduced
at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, held on the 20th day of J13ly , 1981,
PASSED AND ADOPTED as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos,
California, at a regular meeting of the Town Council, held
on the 3rd day of August 1981, by the following
vote:

Peter W. Siemens
