AN URGENCY INTERIM ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS REQUIRING A CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT FOR ALL USES IN THE PS (PUBLIC
SCHOOL OVERLAY) ZONE
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Findings
The Council hereby finds and declares as follows:
1.1. The Council has requested that the Planning Commission study
the provisions of the PS zone relating to the uses permitted in the zone.
1.2. The Council has determined that some of the uses specified as
allowed in the zone without a conditional use permit may be detrimental
to surrounding residential areas.
1.3. In order to protect the public safety, health and welfare,
it is necessary to enact as an urgency measure, to take effect immediately,
regulating use changes which may be in conflict with the results of the
Planning Commission's study.
SECTION 2.
Conditional Use Permit Required
The uses listed in zoning ordinance section 4.88.030 are allowed only
if a conditional use permit is issued.
SECTION 3.
Term
This ordinance is effective from May 19, 1981 to and including September
18, 1981, unless extended as provided in California Government Code § 65858.
Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Council shall
cause it to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published
and circulated in the Town.

the Town of Los Gatos at an adjourned regular meeting of the Town Council
on May 19 , 1981.
