RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DESIGNATING
ITS AGENT TO FILE AN APPLICATION IN THE OFFICE
OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING
CERTAIN STATE AND FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER
THE NATURAL DISASTER ASSISTANCE ACT
WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have
arisen within the Town of Los Gatos caused by earthquake commencing at or about 5:04
P.M. on October 17, 1989; and
WHEREAS, on October 22, 1989, the Town Council adopted a Proclamation
confirming the Town Manager's proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council is desirous of obtaining any financial aid and
assistance available under the Natural Disaster Assistance Act.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS:
THAT Deborah A. Acosta, Town Manager, or Debra Figone, Assistant Town
Manager, or Michele Braucht, Finance Manager, is hereby authorized to execute for and
in behalf of the Town of Los Gatos, a public entity established under the laws of the State
of California, this application and to file it in the Office of Emergency Services for the
purpose of obtaining certain federal financial assistance under P.L. 93 -288 as amended by
the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, or state
financial assistance under the Natural Disaster Assistance Act.
THAT the Town of Los Gatos, a public entity established under the laws of the
State of California, hereby authorizes its agent to provide to the State Office of Emergency
Services for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance the assurances and
agreements required.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 8th day of January, 1990 by the following vote.
