A RESOLUTION INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS LA RINCONADA #4 TO THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS
RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, County of
Santa Clara, State of California that
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation to the Town of Los Gatos consisting
of all that unincorporated territory known as La Rinconada #4, located South of
Wedgewood Avenue, East of La Rinconada Park and West of Clearview Drive in the
County of Santa Clara is proposed for annexation to the Town of Los Gatos
pursuant to Part 2 of Title 4, Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 et
seq. of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the satisfaction of the Town Council that the
owners of land included in said proposal desire to annex to the Town of Los
Gatos in order to receive municipal services.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos of the
County of Santa Clara DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE and ORDER as follows:
1. The Town of Los Gatos is the conducting authority and hereby
initiates annexation proceedings pursuant to Section 56826 of the
Government Code. Proceedings of the Los Gatos Town Council will
be held pursuant to Section 57025 of Chapter 4.
2. The territory proposed to be annexed is designated as La
Rinconada #4 Annexation, and the boundaries are described in the
real property description and map attached hereto marked Exhibits
"A" and "B ", respectively.
3. The territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited as defined by
Section 56046 of the Government Code of the State of California.
4. The reason for the proposed annexation is to properly plan and
provide municipal services to the area which is contiguous to the
Town.
5. On February 27, 1989, at the meeting of the Town Council begin-
ning at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center,
110 East Main Street, Los Gatos, California, a public hearing
will be held during which the Town Council will hear protests
against the annexation.
6. Since the territory is uninhabited, law provides that any owner
of land within the territory may file a written protest against
the annexation with the Town Clerk at any time prior to conclu-
sion of the Town Council's hearing on the proposed annexation.
7. The Town Council has determined that the annexation is
Categorically Exempt from the provisions of CEQA, California
Administrative Code Section #15319(x) and (b).
The Town Clerk is directed to cause notice of the hearing on the
proposed annexation to be given as provided in Section 56151 and 57025 of the
Government Code, and said notice shall include all the information specified in
Section 57025 of the Government Code.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos held on the 23 day of January 1989, by the following
vote:

La Rinconada #04 Annexation
To the Town of Los Gatos
All that real property situated in the County of Santa Clara, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the most northwesterly point of that certain annexation to the
Town of Los Gatos known as La Rinconada #2 (141); thence
I. S 32' 29' 25" E 119.45 feet; thence
2. S 66' 19' 14" E 66 feet, more or less, to the
TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING, said point also being the point of intersection with
the southerly line of that certain annexation to the Town of Los Gatos known as
Wedgewood #1 (14), where said line is parallel to and equidistant at right
angles 225 feet at all points in a general southerly direction from the
southerly line of Wedgewood Avenue as the same then existed; thence
3. Easterly along the various courses and distances of said parallel line
to the point of intersection with the northerly prolongation of the
most northerly course of the easterly line of the the subdivision
shown upon that certain map entitled "Tract No. 1387 - La Rinconada
Knolls - Unit No. 2 ", recorded in Book 57 of Maps, Page 47, on June 7,
1955, Santa Clara County Records; thence
4. Southerly along said northerly prolongation of said most northerly
course of said easterly line of said last named subdivision to the
northeasterly corner thereof; thence leaving boundary of said
