ORDINANCE NO: 1775 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING SECTION 2 -23 OF <br />ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 2 AND SECTION 2 -30 OF ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 2 OF <br />THE TOWN CODE TO CHANGE THE MEETING ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION AND FOR THE PARKS COMMISSION <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 2 -23 of Article III of Chapter 2 of the Town Code is hereby amended to read <br />as follows: <br />ARTICLE III. PLANNING COMMISSION: DIRECTOR OF PLANNING <br />Sec. 2 -23 Planning commission <br />A planning commission is established for the town. The planning commission <br />shall be the town's planning agency within the meaning of Section 65100 of <br />the Government Code. The planning commission shall perform such duties and <br />exercise such powers and authorities with regard to planning, zoning, <br />zoning administration and other land use regulatory controls as are <br />prescribed by ordinance and state law. <br />The planning commission shall consist of nine voting members, whose terms <br />of office shall be four years and until their successors are appointed. <br />The members shall be appointed by the town council. The terms of office of <br />the respective members shall be staggered and overlapped in such a manner <br />that the terms of not less than two nor more than three members expire each <br />year. the term of each member shall commence on the first day of August, <br />and shall expire on the thirty -first day of July of the fourth successive <br />year. The terms of all persons who were members of the commission on the <br />effective date of this section shall continue according to present <br />appointment practices until they expire pursuant to such practices and the <br />provisions of this section. <br />The planning commission shall appoint and prescribe the term of office for <br />its chairman. <br />A majority of the members of the commission shall constitute a quorum. <br />Except as otherwise prescribed by ordinance or state law, a vote by a <br />majority of a quorum shall be sufficient to transact business. <br />Meeting attendance requirements will conform with current Town resolution. <br />
